My Favorite American Institution Is the First Amendment

I am once again re-affirming my commitment to documenting my life. As always, the irony is that when I'm busy doing things worth blogging about — I'm too busy to blog.

Although, this time I'll admit I haven't been too busy to blog. Some nights I watch a movie. Last night I went to sleep at 9:30pm for no particular reason, just because I could. During my lunch hour I read when I could be blogging. So I have no excuse; I just haven't made it a priority as I re-settle back into North Carolina.

But it's been on my to-do list! And last night I had some sort of terrible dream where I put off my Spanish homework all semester long and didn't learn anything and realized months in that it was too late to catch up. So maybe leaving my blog to languish has been subconsciously making me anxious.

In catching up, my plan is to use the photos on my phone to reconstruct key memories. I'm sure I'll lean on my ever-faithful Google Calendar for support.

Ok— show, don't tell, right?

Yesterday was the Fourth of July. I went river floating with my friend Laini and a group of her friends. It was lovely and hot. I wore SPF 100 sunscreen and did not get burned.

That afternoon everyone reconvened at Laini's house for a cookout. I brought (drumroll) All-American Veggie Burgers!!! Not a big hit with the crowds, but I enjoyed them.

It was a good day.

Yesterday I got dinner with Ashlyn after dropping off MM at the airport— another good day. Earlier I'd gotten lunch with Vicki at Tru and I also got to see my friend John, who was in town from Boston just for the day!
